Six Famous Grass Quotes
In the last post, we talked about how grass is commonly under appreciated by the general public; to many people, grass is just something that is there, nothing special or noteworthy, typically. However, we cannot say that grass hasn’t gotten its fair share of recognition by some rather recognized names over the years. Here are some of our favorite quotes about grass:
Whoever could make… two blades of grass grow where only one grew before, would deserve better of mankind, and do more essential service to his country, than the whole race of politicians put together.
Jonathan Swift
I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars
Walt Whitman
Grass is what saves and holds the water that keeps life good and going… It keeps the falling rain from flushing away. Blades of grass take water from the air and transpired it into the ground. That works the other way around, too. Because grass blades help put water back into the air so that rain can fall again.
Theodore Roosevelt
To me, a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.
Hellen Keller
In creating, the only hard thing is to begin: a grass blade’s no easier to make than an oak.
James Russell Lowell
The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.
Robert Fulghum
