‘Tis the season to be thankful, and what am I thankful for this year? A healthy and thick turf. By following simple fall lawn care tips like aerating your lawn, mowing regularly, and fertilizing before winter comes, I am thankful for all the benefits it gives me. Take care of your lawn and it will thank you back. Why should we be thankful for a healthy lawn? Well, let me explain the benefits of a healthy lawn.

Healthy Lawn Benefits:

  • A thick and healthy lawn can act like a natural air conditioner. Lawns actually measure 20 to 30 degrees cooler than paved areas. When it’s hot, everyone likes to hang in the lawn under a tree, not the sidewalk.
  • A well-maintained lawn adds home value. A survey found that more than half see lawn as a good home investment. Taking care of your lawn, especially when you’re about to put it up on the market, can increase your home value by 15 percent.
  • Lawns are safe for play! A good lawn can provide good cushion and traction for you and your feet. What’s more fun to play and run through, dirt or grass? Arguable, but I prefer the soft grass.
  • Lawns can keep it quiet. What’s that street noise? If you’ve kept a lush lawn, it can muffle the street noise, letting you and your family get a good night’s sleep. I think that’s what we’ll all need after a big Thanksgiving celebration.
