Long been the standard “carpetgrass” in Texas, Raleigh St. Augustine is medium to dark green with a medium to coarse blade. Developed in 1980, this variety of St. Augustine exhibits dense ground coverage. Being of the shade tolerant St. Augustine family, it falls in the spectrum between it’s more tolerant cousins, Palmetto and Texas Native and less tolerant Floratam.
